Let's Chat

Before visiting wedding venues all over London, you need to find out if the venues you like tick all your boxes!

Best way to do this is to chat to your favourite venues, see how they operate, how responsive (and excited) they are about your wedding plans. Ask the venue what budget you will likely need for your wedding based on your wedding plans and guest numbers.

Helpful Information

Is A Dry Hire Venue The Right Choice For Our Wedding?

Here are some of the concerns and questions couples ask themselves when deciding to get married in a dry hire wedding venue vs a package venue.

  • Looking for something more than a traditional off-the-shelf package wedding?

  • Want full control over the food you eat?

  • Want to work with any caterer or BYO drinks?

  • Is your ideal wedding a really late-night party with DJs and dancing?

  • Want full control over all the wedding suppliers you choose?

  • Want to throw out the rule book and avoid the same old wedding traditions?

  • Love decorating and want to incorporate your own creativity into your wedding day?

  • Want to have your wedding in a private exclusive hire venue not a wedding factory?

  • Want to avoid a Town Hall ceremony where you are lined up outside while another wedding is finishing?

  • Want to get married somewhere convenient, surrounded by great hotels and 24/7 public transport options? Somewhere you can have a brunch the next day, and get ready the morning of your wedding?

  • Want to get married somewhere cool, where you just have to step out the door after your ceremony to take your wedding photos in front of the colourful and ever changing Shoreditch Street Art and urban architecture?

  • Want to have a wedding like no other?

If you found your self saying YES repeatedly, Shoreditch Studios or Kachette might be your ideal wedding venue!

There is so much flexibility in what you can do and how you set up the venue to make it your own. That is why our dry hire wedding venues are such a popular choice for couples.

How Much Will Our Wedding Cost?

Setup costs in our venues are around £8,000 to £10,000 at Kachette and £10,000 to £12,000 at Shoreditch Studios. This covers venue hire, VAT, security, furniture hire, lighting package and a late licence.

Food, drinks, photographer, flowers and entertainment are on top of these costs.

Weddings at Kachette with 100 guests spend between £30,000 to £34,000.

Weddings at Shoreditch Studios with 100 guests spend between £29,000 and £32,000.

This covers everything you need to have your wedding in our venues including a bespoke food and drinks menu, a registrar or celebrant, custom decor, ceremony and reception furniture and lighting, a great sound system and DJ, service staff, venue security, setup staff, pack up, transport, cleaning, venue dry hire, VAT and a late licence to 1am or 2am.

Is a £25,000 budget wedding possible?

Before the pandemic, we hosted several 80 guest weddings with £25k budgets. External suppliers (caterers, florists, DJs, photographers, staffing, security) have increased their prices considerably in recent years so weddings are costing more.

Venue set up costs with food and drinks for 80+ guests may not leave you any budget to cover your other essential wedding suppliers and entertainment. A package venue that is already set up or a venue outside central London may be more suitable for your wedding if your budget is £25k or less. But regardless of your budget, we are more than happy to chat through your options in our venues and we offer all couples loads of planning and money saving tips!

Couple FAQ’s

Read our wedding couple FAQs page for more information on everything couples ask us including corkage (no charge in our venues), late licence extensions, rules on pets, confetti, balloons or candles (all accepted here).

Booking A Registrar

Our venues are licensed by Hackney Council for weddings. Please contact them directly to book in a registrar for your wedding to be legally married. See Hackney Council’s ‘approved venues fees’ via their website link below. For couples not looking to host a legal ceremony, we also welcome humanist ceremonies. Both venues can also be hired for receptions only.

Registrars across England are still experiencing high volumes of enquiries and can take a couple of weeks to get back to you. We advise all couples planning a 2022 wedding to get in touch with Hackney Council to check registrar availability ASAP to ensure you have time to secure a registrar for your wedding date.

When Can We View The Venues?

Shoreditch Studios viewings:
Monday to Friday at 8am or 6:30pm

Shoreditch Studios is a really busy venue so it’s not possible to accommodate viewings at other times during the day or on weekends. We have photoshoots, weddings or events booked every day of the year so 6:30pm after photographic shoots finish is the best time to get in and see the venue when it is empty.

Kachette viewings:
Monday to Friday between 9am - 6:30pm on any non-event day.

If you would like to view both venues, we would start at Kachette at 6pm followed by Shoreditch Studios at 6.45pm.
