Embracing Diversity in Culture and Arts
At Shoreditch London, we don't just offer venues; we curate and host a dynamic culture and arts events program across all our spaces, celebrating diversity and inclusivity. Our events serve as a vibrant stage, amplifying the voices of artists, creatives, and businesses from all communities, including BAME and LGBTQIA+. Join us in fostering a culture of representation and expression.
We're always on the lookout for captivating experiences that resonate with our diverse audience. If you have an event that you think we may be interested in, please get in touch.
Our diverse event calendar is proof of what we stand for, from same-sex marriages to the launch of Gal-Dem an independent magazine produced by women and non-binary people of colour.
We also hosted the UK's first Black Girl Festival, an event for and by black British women and girls designed to celebrate and explore what it means to be a black woman in the UK. The event had a marketplace and conference to empower entrepreneurship and growth in independent black brands and businesses. We also host the annual Noir Kringle event at Voxonica which celebrates diversity and representation for children at Christmas.
A Day of Togetherness was another standout event at Kachette, which focused on activities and games to strengthen relationships and deepen human connection in the city.
We also launched Rihanna's Savage X Fenty lingerie brand which promotes body positivity and redefined the marketplace with its accessible price point.
We were honoured to be part of London Pride by hosting the #chooselove art exhibition at Kachette in collaboration with local artists and alcohol brand Smirnoff.
Through our conscious programming of events we have also given visibility to young talent like actor/writer/producer Kwame Augustine, music duo Everyone We Know and hosted new music showcase events for Youtube and Spotify.
British rapper and grime artist Ghetts held Ghettsibition showcasing his self-produced album artwork and discussed his position in the British black community with Akala, BAFTA, and MOBO award-winning rapper, writer, and social entrepreneur.
In 2020, Voxonica, launched Sunday Art Club. A monthly community arts event which welcomes local visual artists, poets, musicians and creatives to perform in front of a live audience and the opportunity to network and form collaborations with other like-minded artists.
In 2021, Kachette hosted Kiki Drag Cabaret events throughout the year.
