Sustainability Policy

At Shoreditch London Event Venues, we pride ourselves on delivering events as sustainably as possible. Below are a few ways in which we do this.

Waste

As our venues are dry-hire, we naturally have a very low waste output, however we do manage waste on behalf of our clients to ensure that it is recycled wherever possible. Collections are only made when our euro-bins are full, so there are no excess emissions generated by collection vehicles, we also use a local company to handle all waste removal.

Energy

Our power is provided by British Gas on a green tariff using 100% renewable sources. All house and stage lighting included in venue hire is LED and as such use comparatively low-energy as opposed to traditional stage lighting. There is also no gas supply to our venues meaning caterers are generally using clean electricity when preparing food.

Suppliers

We have a trusted network of suppliers that we recommend clients use where possible. Our preferred AV and tech suppliers are based just 50 meters from us, and our preferred caterers over in Hackney Wick, together they look after the vast majority of events in our venues, and as they’re so versatile they’re able to put together a solution for most clients. Where clients prefer to use suppliers from further afield, we work with them to ensure deliveries are made efficiently, and provide storage where needed to minimise vehicle usage. Although caterers at our venues often run street-food style pop-ups with us, they’re encouraged to use reusable cutlery and crockery for service, and the nature of the majority of our events require this too.
