Next Steps

Here are the next steps to securing your wedding venue:

Step 1: Pencil your preferred wedding date. If you viewed both Shoreditch Studios and Kachette, please confirm which venue you would like to pencil. You are welcome to come back for another viewing too if you would like a longer walkthrough or to show your family through the venue.

Step 2: If you are planning to host a legal civil ceremony in the venue, contact Hackney Council to check availability for a registrar to attend our approved premises (Shoreditch Studios or Kachette) on your preferred date. Every council in London has a limited number of registrars so the sooner you book the venue, the sooner you can also secure a registrar at your preferred ceremony time and date. To secure the registrar, complete Hackney Council’s registrar booking form.

Step 3: Email to confirm your date. When you are ready to confirm your date, please email John the following information so he can make up your contract and deposit invoice.

Step 4:Sign your contract and pay your deposit invoice. You can view a sample contract above. Your venue dry hire fee, VAT, security and damage deposit will be split into 2 invoices. 50% of these costs are invoiced now to secure your date. The final balance invoice is due two weeks before your wedding date.

Any additional production costs booked through Shoreditch London will also be added to your final balance invoice and due a week before your wedding date. Usual production costs booked for weddings include a lighting package, microphones for speeches and DJ equipment, if needed. Other production costs which can be booked through the venue are a bathroom attendant and cloakroom attendant or a wedding day manager, if required.

Step 5: Book your wedding suppliers. It’s recommended to book catering, bar, furniture and lighting first as these are the biggest costs for most weddings. Some couples get quotes for these suppliers before going to contract which is recommended if you are on a tight budget. Shoreditch London’s recommended wedding suppliers have worked at many weddings in our venues and come highly recommended by couples. You are also welcome to find and book suppliers not on our supplier list but we want to make sure the suppliers have chosen are suitable and experienced in dry hire venues like ours so feel free to run your supplier list by us before you book them all in. After catering, lighting and furniture are booked, you can take your time planning and booking everything else.

Catering

Wedding catering is one of the most important aspects of a wedding. Your wedding breakfast is your first meal as a married couple.

We work with and can recommend a range of experienced caterers who can cater for all budgets and catering requirements from vegan and vegetarian menu options, street food menus to hybrid multicultural cuisine. Sharing platters and gourmet canapés are the most popular choice but some couples have also opted for three-course set menus, tapas or curry buffets.

Cater London are our trusted one-stop wedding supplier for all catering, bar and furniture needs. Cater provide gourmet catering and bar management for 80% of our weddings. Cater’s menus are freshly prepared and cooked on-site by a team of skilled chefs in a pop-up site kitchen in the venue courtyards. Choose from bespoke 3-course plated meals, sharing platters or informal street food menus. Flexible drinks packages are also available for all budgets or you can BYO drinks on corkage. Cater packages include service staff, bar staff as well as on-the-day wedding management. Their team can also hire and set-up your wedding furniture and decor.

Lighting

After catering, lighting is the next most important part of a wedding to get right. Lighting sets the mood for the day and evening. Venue light also  compliments and highlight your decor, flowers and furniture. Our warehouse wedding venues look amazing with lights hung from the venues industrial lighting truss, lights draped on our spiral staircases and brick walls.

Our lighting packages via KSS make choosing your lighting easy. These can be booked directly via John. Check out Pinterest for lighting inspiration. Lighting packages at Shoreditch Studios range from £1,600 to £2,500, including VAT. Lighting packages at Kachette start at £800 for the party lighting package or the full two room wedding lighting package for £1,500 including VAT.

If you have unique lighting ideas, we welcome them but note that custom setups may cost more. Consider investing more in lighting as a well lit wedding venue is crucial for your wedding photos. Our lighting packages are setups for optimal lighting. If you choose another supplier, let us coordinate with them to ensure proper setup and avoid damage, as one incident in the past caused damage to Shoreditch Studios.

Furniture

Rustic wooden furniture perfectly compliments the Victorian brick walls and railway arch architecture of our venues. Rustic chairs and long wooden tables look amazing for ceremonies and seated receptions but some couples prefer the layout and look of round tables.

Get inspired via our Pinterest board or ask our team for help with booking your furniture. You can also ask Cater London to add furniture to your food and drinks quote!

If you want to handle furniture and decor arrangements yourself, explore our recommended furniture suppliers. Please share your furniture list with us before booking to ensure everything is in order. Keep in mind that furniture suppliers won't set up the items upon delivery, so you may need to hire staff for this unless your caterer offers this service.

Since we don’t have room to store furniture, it must be removed from the venue after your wedding. Please make sure your furniture supplier that offers on-the-day delivery and late-night collections.
